Opinion: Tolls, again? No thanks. We’re done with that

As any political science course will teach you, elected officials often propose more than they know they’ll get, in hopes of a compromise. With all due respect, these are not times for political gamesmanship. The people of Connecticut are tired of tolling arguments and increases on their cost of living. When I read the new tolls bill proposed by state Sens. Will Haskell, D-Westport, and Alexandra Kasser, D-Greenwich, I was disturbed and disappointed. Haskell and Kasser both know tolls will not pass into law. They have neither the votes nor the vocal support of Gov. Ned Lamont. Haskell knows the bill is unlikely to go anywhere. Therefore, it is a disingenuous piece of legislation.
