Rep. Patricia Billie Miller running for Connecticut Senate in special election; seat once held by major players

State Representative Patricia Billie Miller of Stamford is running for the state Senate in an upcoming special election. Standing in 2018 beside a photograph of the late Sen. Margaret E. Morton at the Connecticut Senate, Miller said, “I stand on the shoulders of women like her because she was my role model.” Miller added that Morton “left a footprint in the history of Connecticut, but not even the history of Connecticut but in black history.” In the background from left are Senator Marilyn Moore of Bridgeport and then-Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman. (Mark Mirko / Hartford Courant)
