UConn’s Crystal Dangerfield wins AP rookie of the year award, Breanna Stewart named AP’s comeback player of the year

Stewart, who came in second place in the AP’s MVP voting, had a stellar summer after tearing her Achilles in May 2019 and sitting out the 2019 WNBA season, averaging 19.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game for the second-seeded Seattle Storm. She was also an unanimous choice for the AP’s All-WNBA First Team, joining MVP A’ja Wilson (Las Vegas), Candace Parker (Los Angeles), Courtney Vandersloot (Chicago) and Arike Ogunbowale (Dallas).
