Chances for high school football amid coronavirus pandemic dim with new report from DPH; Lamont calls for postponement

After a nearly three-hour meeting between the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference, the state Department of Public Health and other state officials Friday in which the CIAC proposed a plan to play football this fall, pending DPH approval, the department stated in a letter Monday that it would still recommend substituting football, a high-risk sport, with a low- or moderate-risk option, or postponing the season.
