UConn men begin conference play at Cincinnati with an understated confidence

UConn-Cincinnati games have traditionally been “rock fights,” low scoring, physical. Things are changing at Cincinnati, too, with longtime coach Mick Cronin gone, now at UCLA. John Brannen was hired from Northern Kentucky, where he was successful in the Horizon League, and got the benefit of Jarron Cumberland’s decision to return as a senior, and the NCAA’s decision to allow Chris Vogt, 7 feet 1, to play this season after transferring from NKU. The Bearcats (7-5) have struggled, though they are considered favorites on Wednesday night.
